Lab Members


Autumn Slaughter, M.S.C.P., M.A.

Autumn is a sixth year doctoral student. She is currently on internship at the Oklahoma Forensic Center. Current projects include research into journalists’ experiences of online harassment. Autumn’s clinical interests include journalists covering traumatic news and psychology advocacy/public policy.

*Autumn earned her B.A. in psychology at Olivet Nazarene University outside of Chicago, IL before completing an M.S.C.P at Southern Nazarene University in Oklahoma City.
Ariel Durosky, B. A.
Lab Manager

Ariel is a fourth year doctoral student. She is interested in researching the effects of war zones and hostile environments on journalists and military personnel. Her clinical interests include prevention training for PTSD and other trauma-related disorders.

* Ariel earned her B.A. from Emmanuel College in Boston, MA. She then worked as a research coordinator at New York State Psychiatric Institute/ Columbia Medical Center.
Amanda Gentz, B.A.

Amanda is a third year doctoral student, and the lab manager. She is interested in factors that influence individuals' resilience to traumatic stress. She is particularly interested in under-served communities and moral injury.

*Amanda earned her B.A. from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Pauleen Diamond

Pauleen is a first year master's student. She is interested in studying the effects of trauma, posttraumatic stress disorder, and disaster psychology.

*Pauleen earned her B.A. in psychology from Baylor University in Waco, TX.
Ava Hanson

Ava is a first year master's student. She is interested in studying the effects of trauma, with a special attention to minority mental health.

*Ava earned her B.A. in Psychology, Spanish, and Latin American, Latinx, and Caribbean Studies (LALACS) from Gustavus Adolphus College in Saint Peter, MN.
Zoey Merchant

Zoey is a senior Psychology student with minors in Gender Studies and Early Intervention. She is clinically interested in the effects of trauma in everyday life and educational contexts and how those ideas are complicated among intersecting identities. She strives to support these interests in her everyday life as President of the first-generation student club, Gen1TU, where she supports the transition to college for at risk students.
Darian Martínez

Darian is a third year undergraduate student, double-majoring in Psychology and Spanish with a minor in Women’s & Gender Studies. She is interested in the effects of trauma, posttraumatic stress disorder, intergenerational trauma, and resiliency in underrepresented, under-served, and minority communities.
Abby Stewart

Abby is a second-year undergraduate student, planning to double-major in Psychology and English with minors in History and Political Science. She is interested in the effects of traumatic events on the human brain, especially for individuals in the journalism field that report and experience these situations firsthand. With her pursuit of a double major, she believes that studying Psychology and English will give additional insight into both PTSD and stress caused by the viewings of trauma.
