Oklahoma Dance Film Festival

TU Assistant Professor of Dance, Jessica Vokoun, curated and directed the 2013 Oklahoma Dance Film Festival.

TU Assistant Professor of Dance, Jessica Vokoun, curated and directed the 2013 Oklahoma Dance Film Festival, October 4-12.  The Oklahoma Dance Film Festival (OkDFF) may be a young and unique film series event, but it has caught the attention of filmmakers across the globe.   This year, over 100 films were submitted to the festival via an open call from May-August.  Nearly half of the submissions came from foreign artists, representing 6 different continents.  The week-long festival features film, video and animation work that showcases dance and choreography.  The programming includes several genres: documentaries that expose the process, history and theory of dance; dynamic short films that use movement as a medium for story-telling or visual spectacle; and new this year, video installations that explore the merging of digital technology and dance.
