Ad faculty wins national award for work with credit union

Bill Hinkle, adjunct professor of advertising at The University of Tulsa, recently won the Gold Award for best creative in the broadcast/video category produced for all credit unions across the United States. The results were announced at the annual Marketing Association of Credit Unions’ MAC Awards Competition held last month in San Francisco.

The MAC Awards are known as the most prestigious advertising honor a credit union can receive. Hinkle Creative Services Inc. and Tulsa Federal Credit Union won the overall broadcast Gold for two commercials promoting the “First Time Homebuyers Mortgage” and “Tulsa Two Step” adjustable rate mortgage plan. Also included in the overall Gold broadcast award were several 15-second online videos created for the same loan products.

Two years ago, Hinkle Creative Services and Tulsa Federal won multiple Gold Awards for the credit union’s “Nothing Checking” campaign including Best of Show in several categories.

Hinkle (BA ’69) has been teaching in TU’s Department of Communications for more than two decades.
