Department of Economics

Economics is the study of how societies decide to and do use finite resources in an attempt to satisfy demand for goods and services. This entails the study of resources, production, distribution and demand by various sectors including consumers, businesses, government and foreign entities. Understanding economics from a variety of theoretical perspectives is critical to understanding the world in which we live.

The faculty members of the economics department know that we are happiest and most vibrant when we are engaged in intellectual pursuits. We know that our teaching is best when we are busy learning. We also appreciate our opportunity to share ideas with the larger community of economists and with our students.
