The mission of the School of Music is to provide its students with a professional musical education that is consistent with the aims of a comprehensive university and relevant to a continually changing global and technological environment. The School of Music enriches the university’s curriculum with course offerings and ensemble experiences available to all students and enhances campus and community life with quality concerts, recitals and other programs and performances.
The opening of the Roxana Rozsa and Robert Eugene Lorton Performance Center has allowed our students access to a state of the art facility. In addition to its main auditorium, the 77,000 square foot performance center has practice facilities, rehearsal and performance spaces, all with the latest technology. You may tour our facility by viewing our slideshow.
Musical opportunities are available both to music majors and to students majoring in other disciplines. Students from all disciplines are eligible to perform with the School’s numerous musical ensembles. Membership in these ensembles is determined by competitive auditions that are open to all TU students. As a music major at The University of Tulsa, you will study with a distinguished faculty of active scholars and performers. The School concentrates solely on undergraduate education and offers programs of study leading to a Bachelor of Art degree, Bachelor of Music degree, and a Bachelor of Music Education degree.
